(formerly the Cheshire Corporation), since she earned her Master of Humanities
degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1996. Eager to expand
her client base, she recently created a web
site, which presents her writing samples, resume, and pricing information.

Eliana is a web designer who has designed sites for several members
of the Women In Publishing Group as well as for other large and small companies.
She has a master's degree in instructional design and 10 years of experience
designing multimedia CD ROMS for children and adults. Her educational clients
have included Lightspan Partnership, Key Technologies, MacMillan/McGraw Hill,
and Creative Learning Systems.
Laurie Brock, President, Brock
Associates
Laurie is a consultant who works with trade, institutional and digital
publishers to help them find alternative ways to use their content. In addition,
she conducts brainstorming sessions, focus groups and other strategic analyses
for her clients. She's now embarking on a new adventure of creating video
memories for grandparents and parents.

After over 12 years in marketing and sales in book publishing, Donna now handles
reference, collection development, and promotional projects for the Library
while pursuing a master's degree in library and information science through
the University of Illinois' distance learning program.

Hartman Ed. Tech. provides curriculum design and instructional technology
services to K-12 schools and libraries. They create (print, software, and
Web-based) curriculum, teacher's guides, classroom activities, webquests,
content scripts, user's guides, state and national Ed. standards alignments,
and assessment materials.
Jeanne Hayes, President, Quality
Education Data
Jeanne heads Quality Education Data, Inc. (QED), a database and
research firm that provides marketing services from initial market research
to database predictive modeling to customer satisfaction studies, all based
on QED's National Education Database of more than 4 million educators in schools,
libraries and colleges. She also works in New York at Scholastic Inc., QED's
parent company, as VP of Marketing Development. In December 2002, Jeanne was
inducted into the AEP "Hall of Fame" recognizing her for extraordinary
individual achievement, professional accomplishments, and a lifetime commitment
to educational publishing.

Association of the West. Prior
to running PubWest, Kathleen ran the online
division of Scholastic in New York.
Barbara Osgood-Hartness, Publisher, Poncha
Press,
In late 1999, Barbara founded Poncha Press, an independent book publisher
based in Morrison, CO. Still reluctant to focus on any one niche, the companys
titles include social/political, travel, westerns, and literary fiction. Poncha
Press donates a portion of its profits to non-profit groups dedicated to animal
welfare.

Fulcrum is the largest independent book publisher in Colorado, publishing
"books that matter" in the areas of travel & outdoor recreation,
gardening, nature, contemporary west, the environment, and Native American
studies, among others. I've been in trade publishing for almost 20 years;
educational direct marketing prior to that.

and cooking. Throughout Interweave's evolution, its publications have focused

Dodie Ownes,
Dodie came to CO in 1993 as the systems librarian at Auraria Library,
after receiving her MLS at U of Chicago in 1986. She then returned to her
vendor roots and worked with CARL Corporation until 1997 as the Dir of Marketing
and Events. Dodie was the west coast advertising rep for LJ, SLJ and Criticas,
all publications from Reed Business Information family. she is now working
part time for The Winter Group, an advertising agency with numerous publishing
clients.

Carol
Waugh, President, Xcellent
Marketing
Carol provides strategic marketing consulting services to a variety of publishing
companies selling to K-12 schools and libraries. She is also the co-author/editor
of many books and articles about marketing to schools and libraries (also
on roller skating and quilt making, but that's another story!) In June, Carol
was awarded the coveted Pink
Jacket Award for her contributions to educational technology in
K-12 schools. In September 2003, she started ther third publishing company
and is publishing a series of books for the publishing community. The series
is called "Books for Successful Publishers".
